LOCAL RULES – Revised September 16, 2025
*Lost Ball or Out of Bounds:
Estimate where lost ball came to rest or OB ball went out of bounds. Player to drop a ball from that point at
edge of fairway being played. Add 2 STROKE PENALTY.
Cannot be used on balls in a penalty area, or a provisional ball.
Barranca on side of fairway #1, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, and 15: Play as Red penalty area. Drop within 2 club
lengths from edge of barranca where the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard. 1 STROKE PENALTY.
Hole #2: A ball crossing over, under or through the protective fence on the right side of hole #2, or going
into fairway #3 proceed as lateral all the way to last big pine tree. Drop within 2 club lengths of the point
of entry, no nearer to the hole. 1 STROKE PENALTY.
If ball lies next to the protective fence, swing and stance relief permitted, NO PENALTY. Determine
nearest point of relief and add 1 club length.
Hole #2: If the ball comes to rest on the path to the left or behind the green, proceed to the nearest point of
relief.
Hole#2 (temporary) If ball lands in dirt pile on left side of fairway or in fenced in area on right side of fairway
free drop no closer to the hole.
Cement Walls by greens on holes #2 and #3 are immovable obstructions. Swing and stance relief is
permitted, not line of sight, NO PENALTY.
Determine the nearest point of relief and add 1 club length. Ball landing above wall and cannot be played,
take an unplayable.
Roots in Fairway – Free Relief. Nearest Point of relief no closer to the hole.
Holes #3 and 4: Barranca, play as a Yellow penalty area. Play from side it entered barranca.
Bridges: A ball coming to rest on a bridge crossing a barranca is considered to be in the barranca.
Hole #7: If ball goes into the drainage ditch and rolls OB, drop at point of entry, NO PENALTY. If
telephone poles on right side of fairway interferes with stance of swing, 1 club length, free relief.
Left side protected screen, one club length, free relief.
Hole #7: Hole#7 is a PAR 4 only for all games of the day competitions. The hole is a PAR 3 as the scorecard
states, and is handicapped by the USGA as such. In order to be credited with a BIRDI you would have to
shoot a 2 on the hole.
Hole #8: The telephone pole by the green is defined as an integral part of the golf course. Play
the ball as it lies or take an unplayable lie. NO FREE RELIEF GRANTED.
Hole #11: If ball lands on cart path or on hole 12 hillside, bring ball back to hole 11 fairway side,
drop one club length from cart path, cart path rule. No Penalty.
Hole 13: Free relief will now be given from the hard pan area on the right side of the fairway between the
tee box and the fairway bunker. This is the area that is very hard rocky ground with no grass
Hole #15: Area behind and to the right side of green is OB.
Ball rolls down cart path, replace at point of entry,
NO PENALTY, if rolls into Barranca play as a Penalty area, point of entry 1 STROKE PENALTY.
Hole#15: The roots along the side of the cart path have become overgrown and dangerous to hit through or
around. You will now be allowed to take relief from the roots that grows around or next to the cart path on this
hole. You will be allowed a free drop from the said tree roots if thy impact your
stance or swing. Your drop must take place on the dirt side of of the cart path that your ball lies. This rule does not
apply if your ball rolls into the barranca or on the other side of the red
stakes, where you are allowed two club lengths from red stakes and incur a one stroke penalty.
Holes #17: The cart storage building is played as an immovable obstruction. Ball landing on
the other side of building. Bring ball back to the beginning of the building (going to hole #17 is the
beginning of the building) and drop free relief no closer to the hole, you will be in the tree line with free relief or
take an unplayable lie going back where you first hit the ball.
Landing on the sidewalk, cart path in front or under building take nearest free relief no closer to the hole.
A ball on the roof is declared a lost ball.
When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is
accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment.
The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced to original position.
Staked or Wired Trees: Free relief, stance and swing, one club length.
Out of Bounds: OB line is determined by inside face of the white stakes. Out of bounds
is defined by white stakes and boundary fences. OB Markers or out-of-bound fences are
not obstructions. NO FREE RELIEF.
4 Ways to play from a Red Staked Penalty
Area
Rule 17.1d (1,2,3)
1. Play as it lies, NO PENALTY.
2. For 1 STROKE PENALTY, player may play from where previous stroke was made.
3. For 1 STROKE PENALTY, player may take the ball back on the line relief. Dropping the
ball on a reference line going straight back from the hole, through the point ball crossed
the edge of penalty area.
4 . Lateral relief allows you to drop a ball into a relief area measured from where your ball last
crossed the edge of red penalty area. From that reference point, you are allowed to drop outside the
penalty area and anywhere within two club-lengths of that spot, no nearer to the hole.
1 STROKE PENALTY .
Rocks in Bunker that interfere with stance or swing may be removed NO PENALTY.
If ball goes into into barranca play a penalty area 1 STROKE PENALTY.
Hardpan areas around the cart path or dirt service roads “play as cart path” free relief,
one club length, no closer to the hole.
Relief from greenside sprinkler heads.
The player may take relief on the line of play if sprinkler head is within two club-lengths of the
putting green, and within two club lengths of the ball. One club length relief, no closer to the hole,
NO PENALTY.
Have Respect for Ground Under Repair.
A player may pick up from a hole when 10 strokes are reached and not be disqualified from the game of
the day PROVIDING THAT HOLE DOES NOT COUNT IN THE WEEKLY GAME.
Preferred Lies allows you to pick up your ball after marking it.
You may clean it or change balls before replacing it. It may be moved with 6 inches of the original spot but no closer
to the hole. Fairways only.
